Kuala Lumpur and the remaining of the old world

About a week ago I started a 2 months adventure backpacking throught the South East of Asia and my first stop was Kuala Lumpur, the main reason is because it's one of the cheapest airports to fly to in the region. Another reason was that there I was to meet two of my classmates from my exchange program in the USA, at UWEC, Yanying and Emelia. I shall mention that Yanying is who I spent the most time with and she made it her personal task to show me Malaysia all the way. First, when you arrive to KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) you can take the KLIA Express that's 100 MYR round trip and takes about 30 minutes to KL Sentral or you can take the bus that'd take about an hour for a lot less money. As soon as I got to Kuala Lumpur, I learnt rule number one the hard way: always, and I mean always, go to the bathroom with toilet paper or tissues. And I don't only stress this because it's not uncommon to become ill with the water or food, but also because normally bathrooms don't have toilet paper, they have a hose as method for cleaning. If you don't take tissues with you... well, you can imagine what it'll be like.

So here's some more important information about Kuala Lumpur and the things you can do in it. First of all, you can do it all in 3 days or less and I honestly don't think I would stay longer. My recommendation is as follows: the first day you can start walking from KL Sentral up to the museums, check out the beautiful buildings in the centre, the I heart KL sign, the little india, chinatown, the main square where Malaysia declared their independence from the British Empire, the city mosque and several other beautiful buildings along the way. After an early dinner, you'll want to go to bed because you'll have an early start and a very busy second day.

Clearly you can't come to Kuala Lumpur and not go to the Batu Caves, they have impressive altars and statues of buddhist gods, the tallest of its kind. It's an imcomparable view and one of its kind experiece, To get there it's very easy, you can take the train from KL Sentral and it'll take you less than 45 minutes to get to your destination. Tips: beware of the moneys, they won't hesitate to steal your food, have lots of water as it'll get hot when you start going up the stairs and you need to start hidrated, bring tissues, I already said why and keep your eyes open, there's a lot to see, from peacocks roaming in the vicinity to the representation of the gods and demons in the second cave. After checking these caves out, you can go to the beautiful Petronas towers that look way better at night with impressive lighting and next to the harmony fountain that will blow your mind with some beautiful patrons of light and music not unlike the fountain of the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

After the first two days packed with to many things to see, you'll want to chill and have a drink, do it so in the Heli Lounge Bar that will provide you with the best sight of the city in the afternoon and at night, it's near the KL tower, so you can go after checking it out and rest having a drink in a Heliport-like bar, one of its kind in the city.
