First time

There are many first times. We crave them. Our first time outside the coutry, first time on our own, first time doing something crazy, or simply "the" first time. However, there are first times we don't know they are first times 'till it's too late. For example, our first time truly in love. When we're teenagers we have crushes, we think they are our first loves till we realize they're not. As we grow older we have our first kiss and, well, hopefully later, our first time. What we seem to forget is that we rarely share all those first times with the same person, that only happens in movies. Our first love comes later, when we know ourselves, when we less expect it. Our first love comes when you less expect it, that moment when you're off guard, when you might not want to be in love, when love is too silly to believe in.

As we grow older we meet new and more interesting people and there's someone, someone with whom you share a certain connection, a sort of thread pulling the two of you together. It could be someone you were introduced to as a friend, a hook-up, or just a stranger. Love starts showing its first signs when you find yourself smiling at the thought of that person, and it's too late when you look at the mirror and you have a hard time recognizing yourself as you try to look at yourself as the other person looks at you. Love makes you smile in a way nothing has ever done before, it almost hurts to love so much 'cause you get scared, you're scared you might lose yourself, love is complicated. It's too easy... well, who knows.

There are other signs of you falling in love, I'm only sharing them with you so you're prepared when it arrives. Love will make you wanna spend every second of your life with that person. Love will make you love that person's vices as you love his virtues. Love will take you to cloud nine, make leave behind your deepest dream to build a new one much bigger than you're even thought of before. Love will make you see the sun shine brighter, will make you wanna sing along the rain's pound on your roof. Love will make you build castles out of sheets and every kiss of your beloved will make you smile so hard 'till your cheeks hurt. Love will make you blind, you won't see the evil in the world, and amnesia, 'cause you won't remember what was it like to be alone. Love will make you need something you never need before, and if it's ever taken away, you feel like you could die.
